Job Description
Botswana Open University (BOU) requires suitably qualified and duty-conscious individuals to serve as Part-Time Tutors in the B.Ed. Early Childhood Education programmes (Offered in Gaborone, Palapye, Francistown, Maun and Kang Regional Campuses).
Tutors are required for the following Courses:
1. Language and Early Literacy
2. Guidance and Disciplining Young Children
3. Business Management
4. Instructional Design for Early Childhood Education
5. Working with Children with Special Needs
6. Advocacy and Leadership in Early Childhood
7. Child Protection
8. Physical Care and Development of Babies and Toddlers
9. Early Childhood Curriculum in Action
10. Music and Movement
11. Management of Early Childhood Programmes
12. Parenting Young Children
13. Cultural and Religious Diversity
14. Introduction to SPSS Applicants should specify the courses that they specialise in.
Key Performance Areas:
The responsibility areas of the successful candidates will include the following:
1. Prepare and deliver tutorials online in accordance with programme quality standards and guidelines.
2. Develop and mark assessment activities.
3. Respond to course related queries raised by learners through different means of communication.
4. Keep records of learner attendance, learner progress, and any other relevant records.
5. Provide guidance and counselling to learners.
Required Qualifications and Experience
1. A Master’s Degree in one or more of the following disciplines: M.Ed.Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Development/Special Education/Primary Education/Educational Research and Evaluation.
2. The candidate should also possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the field applied for.
3. A minimum of two years of teaching experience in tertiary institutions.
4. Demonstrable evidence of familiarity with use of electronic resources in the delivery of teaching and learning.

• Registration with BQA as Assessor and/or Moderator

Requirements
