INSTITUTE FOR COMBATING ILLICIT FINANCIAL FLOWS

The University of Botswana wishes to invite suitable applicants for the position of Training Coordinator at, the Institute for Combating Illicit Financial Flows (ICIFF).Â
The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and facilitating the Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing Terrorism (CFT), and Proliferation of Arms of Mass Destruction (CPF) training. The incumbent provides leadership and assurance and ensures high-quality training programs, BQA accreditation, and alignment with international standards and best practices to combat illicit financial flows.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: i) Contribute to the development and review of the institute’s strategies, policies, plans, and procedures; ii) Developing and reviewing the Institute’s training strategies, policies, plans, procedures, and programs to ensure high quality, BQA accreditation, and alignment with international standards and practices; iii) Supervising and managing all training activities and schedules and keeping records to ensure seamless execution, participant satisfaction, and program evaluation in compliance with international standards and best practices, and the institute standards and procedures;  iv) Coordinating the institute’s projects, and events including seminars, workshops, and reports, and generating analytical reports; v) Collaborating with all stakeholders and undertaking needs assessment to enhance the quality and relevance of training programs and measures of combating illicit financial flows initiatives; vi) Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the Institute’s training function identifying areas of improvement and initiating corrective actions needed; vii) Provide excellent customer services ensuring client and stakeholder satisfaction; viii) Leads the efforts to recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and talented team of trainers, provide professional development and staff performance, and reviews in line with UB human resource policies and labour laws; ix) Develop and manage the institute’s risk register with clear mitigating strategies and ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements; x) Participating in developing the Institute’s Budget and effective management of resources; xi) Undertake any other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Education Qualifications and Experience: A PhD/Doctorate in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, or a related field and experience in higher education is required. A relevant Master’s degree with extensive experience in AML/CFT/CPF implementation and coordination may be considered.
Work Experience:Â A minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at a managerial level (middle management) is required. Higher education experience is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate interest, competency, and ability to develop and teach AML/CFT/CPF material and have extensive experience coordinating and delivering training programs. Further, experience in managing financial and human resources and effective communication is required.
