Key Responsibilities

  • General management of operations staff & fleet.
  • Ensure proper performance and safety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Correct unsafe working conditions.
  • Conduct toolbox talks with drivers, operators, mechanics & assistants at the start of each day.
  • To impart knowledge on how to operate, maintain, rebuild, replace or repair all components, assemblies and systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, etc.
  • Estimate time and materials required to train staff & perform major repairs.
  • To ensure proper analysis of engine performance and make sure tune ups are done as and when needed.
  • Monitor routine vehicle maintenance and preventative care.
  • Make sure all vehicle breakdowns are always attended to.
  • Make sure all parts are readily available and negotiate prices.
  • Have good understanding of vehicle faults and where to look for the problems.
  • Experience of training & administrative work
  • IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Requirements

  • At least five years’ relevant professional experience
  • Relevant diploma or qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Class B drivers’ license or better (Class EC).
  • Fleet management experience
  • People management experience
