Overview
Tsetseng Retail Group is seeking a Trackless Auto Electrician to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems for trackless mining equipment. The role involves ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency, with additional responsibilities in equipment operation during installation and maintenance. Reporting lines include the Sinking Specialist Shift Foreman and Technical Engineering Supervisor, Mechanical.
Key Responsibilities
-Perform daily maintenance and repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
-Diagnose and inspect faults on trackless mining equipment such as:
-Drill Rigs, Vertical Shaft Muckers, LHD Loaders, Underground Loaders.
-Magni/Telehandlers, Brokk, Front-End Loaders, High-Up Trucks, Mini Jumbos, etc.
-Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly.
-Repair and maintain electrical systems on heavy underground mining equipment.
-Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns.
-Maintain accurate records and reports for all maintenance activities.
-Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
-Collaborate with team members for operational efficiency.
-Oversee team coordination and daily reporting of completed tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Mandatory:
- Valid Electrical Trade Certificate and machinery operating license.
- 5+ years of experience as an Auto Electrician in a sinking construction environment.
- Additional Skills:
- Experience in TMM mining (e.g., proximity detection systems, cameras, lighting reticulations, real-time systems).
- Knowledge of Winders, Shaft Jumbos, Vertical Shaft Muckers, and Brokk Machines.
- Familiarity with CAT LHD and Sandvik Drill Rigs.
- Advantageous:
- Certificates in other engineering disciplines or machine operation licenses.
- In-depth understanding of shaft sinking, health, and safety regulations.
