DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY EDUCATION

VACANCY NO: IRC 2110

The Faculty of Education invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of temporary/full-time lecturer in Science Education, Department of Primary Education.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to; (i) teach science courses (ii) provide academic leadership through the enhancement of teaching, research, professional and community service; (iii)take an active part in the supervision and assessment of graduate and undergraduate student’s research projects; (iv). Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the head.

Requirements: Lecturer should possess; (i) PhD in Science Education or related fields (ii) Master’s Degree in Science Education with specialization in Physics; (ii) Bachelor of Education with specialization in Physics or Bachelors’ Degree in Physics plus PGDE; (iii) show evidence of engagement in research. (iv)Teaching experience at a tertiary education institution will be an added advantage.

 NB: In special circumstances a Master’s Degree in Science Education with specialization in Physics and a Bachelor of Education with specialization in Physics or Bachelor Degree in Physics or related field plus PGDE with a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered.
