VACANCY CIRCULAR NO.1 OF /2023

VACANCY: TEMPORARY FIELD ASSISTANT I (12 months)- 30 POSTS

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Temporary Field Assistant I in the Department of Animal Production in Kgalagadi, tenable at Lobu Field Station.

Salary Scale: A2 (P33, 048- P38, 112 PER ANNUM)

Qualification:

  • A minimum of Primary School Leaving Certificate

Leave rate: 20 working days per annum

Age: 18 to 45 years of age

Main purpose of the job:

  • Herding of livestock on the farm.

Duties

  • Manning livestock
  • Regular fence patrols
  • Shearing of Sheep
  • Slaughtering of lambs and pelting
  • Performing livestock management practices (routine duties such as monitoring livestock health. hoof trimming dipping and any other related duties).
  • Cleaning of kraals and troughs
  • Monitoring veld condition
  • Undertaking any other assigned duties to meet the exigency of a service.
