JOB SUMMARY:
Technical Manager to oversee all technical services related to the Company’s fleet. Ensure smooth and effective management of the workshop and optimum vehicle and mechanic utilization.

TECHNICAL MANAGER’S RESPONSIBILITY:
• Direct, supervise and coordinate all transport operations within the workshop department including fleet, employees, and expenditures.
• Oversee fleet maintenance processes to ensure optimum vehicle, mechanic, and driver utilization.
• To manage the day-to-day maintenance activities effectively and efficiently
• To facilitate the sourcing and delivery of the required parts and tires on a timeous basis for the fleet to be always mobile
• To facilitate negotiations with suppliers and service providers in terms of spares, tires, and required services for the company’s fleet.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
• Follow up with service providers regarding progress on reported breakdowns and ensure corrective action is taken when required.
• Keep communications flowing between various systems and operations teams during projects.
• Manage the staff within the department.
• Ensure that all bookings at contractors and agents are made and that post inspections are carried out in line with company guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Form 5 and/or relevant technical diploma.
• Five years of technical experience/ clear understanding of the transport industry
• Negotiation skills (suppliers and services providers)
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Computer literate (Intermediate) Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently and co-dependently.
• An excellent communicator with top-notch presentation skills.
• A thorough understanding of the latest process enhancement strategies.
• Dynamic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership and mentoring skills.
