Description

To co-ordinate strategy implementation and departmental projects planning process within Strategy and Project Management Office. The role facilitates, under direction from the Head of Strategy & Projects, technical support and assistance in terms of strategic project planning, development of strategic priorities, strategic objectives and goals, execution and reporting on the Airlines short term to medium-term plans. This includes approved key transformation initiatives that will enable the achievement of the Airline’s business operational objectives

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities (Key Performance Areas)

  • Periodic reviews I.E., SWOT, PESTLE Gap analysis undertaken to ensure activities meet the strategic priorities of the transformation agenda.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring alignment across departments.
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting the progress of implementation of plans. Periodically track, evaluate and report on implementation of the plans.
  • Conducting comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Deliver Technical support to projects (PMBOK) by meeting established project timelines and budgets
  • Participate in strategic planning and thinking workshops and assist the Head of Strategy & Projects in facilitating the development and review of the strategic plan.
  • Compile and consolidate annual departmental plans and submit for review to the Head of Strategy & Projects and subsequently EXCO for approvals.
  • Identify safety and/or security risks and develop plans to mitigate identified risks.
  • Providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to support informed decision making.
  • Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them, enhancing overall strategic resilience.
  • Formulates own Scorecards, Performance Plans, Monitors and report on the same as well as Units business Projects Performance.
Requirements

Minimum Education Required

  • A recognized Degree in Projects Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences (Economics, Statistics, Public Administration) or equivalent
  • PMP Certification, Prince 2 or Post Graduate qualification in related field will be an added advantage.

Minimum Experience Required

  • A minimum of six (6) years post graduate experience of which three (3) years should have been in a similar role and sized organization.
  • Airline/Aviation experience will be an added advantage
