Job Description
Bamalete Lutheran Hospital is a reputable, very busy level 1 district mission hospital providing a range of health care services. The hospital invites applications from suitable candidates for the following positions:
Position: SPECIALIST GENERAL SURGEON
Salary scale:
E2 (P427, 860 – P445, 176) per annum plus allowances
Qualifications:
Specialist Degree in General Surgery
Experience:
At least 3 years post specialization
Duties & Responsibilities:
All basic duties related to surgery in a busy District Hospital. The Officer should be able to work independently and his/her responsibilities will include among others:
⦁ Being in charge of the operating theatre unit and running a weekly specialist outpatient clinic
⦁ He/she shall be in charge of the services offered to general surgical patients in BLH
⦁ Participating in all general medical duties in Outpatient Department and Accident & Emergency. This includes full participation in call duties
⦁ Performing specialist surgical operations and is responsible for those surgical patients in the wards
⦁ Conducting in-service training for Hospital staff and other health professionals including junior doctors
