Job Description
The company, a subsidiary of a Chinese company based in Palapye specializes in the manufacturing of steel pipes for the transmission of oil, gas, steam and water from 406mm to 2540mm in diameter. The company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Botswana citizens for the following position:

Requirements
⦁ Review, implement, and maintain the Company SHEQ policies and procedures;
⦁ Ensure the company’s health & safety policies and procedures are known, understood and enforced with staff regularly;
⦁ Inspect workers during working hours to ensure safety practices at all times.
⦁ Be of sober habits to actively monitor workers on site at all sections.
⦁ Work with other Managers to develop further safety processes as and when required;
⦁ Ensure that legal compliance of all statutory legislation and requirements are maintained at all levels;
⦁ Ensure that Emergency Response Plans at each section are kept current;
⦁ Refresh and regularly train management staff on the Emergency Response Plan;
⦁ Ensure safety procedures are routinely refreshed with management and staff and are being effectively implemented;
⦁ Ensure daily recording of hazards, accidents, or incidents;
⦁ Use established tools to monitor any health and safety non-compliance is identified, reported, and rectified in a timely manner at all sections;
⦁ Assist the Production Manager in gathering the necessary investigations, statements, and reports following any risk event (accidents, incidents, and violations);
⦁ Actively hold weekly toolbox meetings with workers to discuss safety-related issues.
⦁ Using established Health & Safety audits, conduct regular audits and checks on the various health, safety, and operational risk processes. The results of these audits are to be discussed with the Production Manager, Quality Control Manager, General Manager, and HR.
⦁ Alongside HR, maintain the Health & Safety files.
Experience and Qualification
⦁ Diploma in Health and Safety Management, Risk Management, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or related.
⦁ At least 4 years of working experience in a relevant industrial production environment. Proficient in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
⦁ Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety or risk
Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
