Overview

Tsetseng Retail Group is hiring a Shaft Captain to oversee the planning, resource allocation, and execution of sinking production. This role requires ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and budgetary standards while meeting operational deadlines. The Shaft Captain will report to the Shaft Sinking Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities

-Production planning, coordination, and monitoring.

-Daily and monthly progress reporting.

-Operational effectiveness.

-Staff coordination and supervision.

-Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Mandatory:
  • Onsetter’s certificate.
  • Blasting certificate.
  • Shift Supervisor / Foreman certificate.
• Experience:
  • 10+ years in vertical shaft sinking, including:
    • 5 years as a Shift/General Foreman on sinking and underground construction projects.
    • 2 years as a Sinker.
  • Hands-on experience with sinking equipment (advantageous).
• Additional Skills:
  • Knowledge of shaft sinking, health & safety standards, and regulations.
  • Additional certifications in mining disciplines (advantageous).
