The Facilities & Services Engineer is responsible for the management, coordination, and oversight of facilities and infrastructure services across Motheo Village Camps and Mine Offices.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, The Facilities & Services Engineer is responsible for the management, coordination, and oversight of facilities and infrastructure services across Motheo Village Camps and Mine Offices. Embedded within the Administration function, the role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site infrastructure including electrical systems, civil infrastructure, buildings, utilities, waste management, and sanitation services. The role works closely with internal departments and external stakeholders other service contractors to maintain operational continuity and ensure that facilities support the overall business operations of the mine. The position focuses on contractor management, infrastructure reliability, service delivery standards, compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement of site facilities management.
This position requires a proactive engineer with strong project execution and contractor management skills, able to coordinate between site construction teams, vendors, and the broader project management group.
Key Performance Areas
- Oversee facilities management services across Motheo Village Camps and Mine Offices to ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained infrastructure.
- Manage electrical infrastructure and coordinate with Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) regarding power supply, outages, upgrades, and compliance.
- Oversee civil infrastructure maintenance including buildings, roads, drainage systems, and general site infrastructure.
- Manage waste management and sanitation systems to ensure compliance with environmental and health regulations.
- Supervise contractors responsible for facilities maintenance, utilities, sanitation, and related infrastructure services.
- Ensure service delivery from contractors meets contractual obligations, safety standards, and operational requirements.
- Conduct inspections of facilities and infrastructure to ensure safety, reliability, and quality standards are maintained.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance programs for facilities and utilities.
- Provide technical input for infrastructure upgrades, improvements, and new facilities development.
- Work closely with HSES to ensure facilities operations comply with environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Support procurement processes related to facilities services including contractor scope development and technical evaluation.
- Maintain documentation, maintenance records, and compliance reports related to facilities and utilities management.
- Respond to infrastructure incidents and coordinate corrective actions to minimise operational disruptions.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, cost optimisation, and service improvements within facilities management.
- Maintain professional communication with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, standards, and deliverables.

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of 8 years in facilities management, infrastructure engineering, or utilities management within mining, industrial, or large operational environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors and service providers.
- Experience working with electrical utilities, infrastructure systems, and facilities operations.
- Knowledge of camp infrastructure and site services within remote operations is highly desirable.
- Registration with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB) or eligibility for registration is advantageous
