Service Monitoring Engineer

Reporting to the Service Monitoring Lead Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for real time supervision of Orange Botswana Services and attending to customer queries from different frontline tools using the given tools.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

• Supervision of critical services as highlighted by the Business.
• Service Monitoring Engineering; Suggest best tools to monitor services and take full ownership of monitoring tools.
• Ensure the best possible handling of queries from all front liners and provide clear and precise response in the shortest possible time.
• Provide support or escalation of non-standard customer queries that Customer service cannot resolve.
• Prepare the delivery of network and service performance indicators and ad hoc dashboards and ensure their reliability and coherence.
• Receive and acknowledge reported incidents and create relevant tickets for the Maintenance / intervention teams to follow.
• Perform incident verification for reported issues using existing tools or any relevant means.
• Keep up-to-date the base of information of the incidents

Skills:

• Ability to react quickly following alarm or event detection
• First level issue analysis and launch of corrective actions
• Ability to answer customer care complains
• Understand of QoS/E in the area of Telecommunications
• Good knowledge of both GSM, WCDMA, IN/VAS and Corporate Customers systems
• IP networking awareness
• Self-driven, Innovative and proactive
• Ability to work under pressure
• Being customer-oriented
• Following up on client requests and problems and feeding back information on critical situations.

Qualifications and experience:

• BSc. /BEng. Telecommunications Engineering or Electronic and Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 2 years of engineering experience in a telecommunication company.
