Job Description

The Botswana Defence Force is looking forward to employ suitably qualified Non-uniformed Personnel for the following positions:

 TENABLE AT JOINT TECHNICAL TRAINING SCHOOL (SSKB)

Qualifications: Degree in Mechatronics and Industrial Instrumentation or any related field and CVET Accreditation as a Moderator and Assessor.

Requirements: Registered with Engineers Registration Board

Experience: Al least six (6) years relevant work experience, two (2) years of which should have been served C1 salary scale

Salary scale: D4 (P243.756 – P268.680) per annum.

Leave: 30 working days per annum.

Job purpose: Instruct under Weapon Control and Instrumentation programme on several Mechatronics, Control and Instrumentation modules acros all levels and programmes

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and conduct lessons on several Control and Instrumentation modules.
  2. Plan and facilitate the conduct of practical within the wide spectrum of Mechatronics along the programmes offered in JTTS.
  3. Cultivate innovation amongst leaners along modelling and simulation, sensors and actuators, machine learning and intelligent systems.
  4. Participate in development and review of Weapon Control and Instrumentation Engineering Curricula in JTTS

e Develop maintenance plans for the equipment used by students.

  1. Provide guidance and professional advices to technicians under his leadership.
  2. Advice and plan for upgrade of Personnel along Mechatronics streams.
  3. Advice on the acquisition of equipment and tools relevant to the discipline.
  4. Enhance workshop processes
  5. Design prototype mechatronic devices with monitors, solenoids, gears, sensors and other components that may be required to solve certain engineering problems within BDF as a whole.
  6. Perform maintenance on several BDF equipment that may be brought for maintenance in JTTS.
  7. Program and operate automated workshop equipments.
  8. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the commandant in relation to the area of work.
