Employment Type: Permanent, Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Gaborone & Francistown, Botswana
Main Purpose of the Job
To develop and deliver teaching and learning to undergraduate and Master’s Degree
students in support of the academic objectives of the Botswana School of Business Sciences.
The role includes planning, development and delivery of learning material that is underpinned
by defined programme learning outcomes, developing assessment and evaluation instruments,
implementation of such assessments, supporting Programme Leaders and Coordinators, student
retention and induction, academic counselling, student surveys, and ensuring teaching,
learning and assessment activities are delivered efficiently in line with institutional policies
and procedures.

Experience and Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Systems Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
- Proven evidence of knowledge in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education) or another recognised teaching qualification.
- Membership of a relevant recognised professional body.
- Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) accreditation or eligibility for accreditation.
- Industry certification in a relevant area will be an added advantage.
Experience Required – Lecturer
- At least four (4) years of post-qualification experience in educational planning, delivery and management.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, academic policies, standards and programmes.
- Experience in student administration and management, academic assessments, research, curriculum development and learning and teaching management.
- Demonstrated knowledge in teaching and research supervision, particularly in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Data Analytics, Big Data, Algorithms and Data Structures.
- Added advantage: Cloud Computing, Architecture, Infrastructure and Services, Internet of Things (IoT), and Software Engineering Frameworks.
Experience Required – Senior Lecturer
- Must meet the Lecturer requirements.
- At least six (6) years of post-qualification experience in planning and management, with at least three (3) years at Lecturer level.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable legislation, academic policies, standards and programmes.
- Experience in student administration and management, academic assessments, research, curriculum development and learning and teaching management.
- A consistent and sustained record of research and publications.
