REPORTS TO: Core Network Manager
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
- To lead the high quality service of Base Station Support Systems (BSS) for all network nodes for voice and data services (BSCs, RNCs, TCU/SIU, RBSs, etc) always ensuring high performance on all Mobile RAN systems to meet customer satisfaction targets on the BSS network and interfacing to the transport network, Core Network, Fixed and other BTC network systems like the Configuration Management, Performance Management, Element Management, Fault Management and TN Management systems on different vendors for all services.
- Continually introduce and lead quality improvements within the voice & data operational units, influencing the design, planning and implementation of the BSS network and tools proposed by other departments.
- Assist with designing and creating customized statistical and fault reports for different management levels and teams including Optimization, NOC, Management and Executive Management
QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Specialised training in Telecommunications as an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of experience in maintaining Base Station Subsystems or related nodes
LEGAL CERTIFICATION / PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
- Membership to Engineering Registration Board.
