Job Description
The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) was established through the Communications Regulatory Authority Act (CRA Act) of 2012. BOCRA is responsible for the regulation of the communications sector in Botswana, comprising telecommunications, Internet and Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), radio communications, commercial broadcasting, postal services and related matters.
Main Purpose of the Job
Implements compliance activities within the communications sector through Monitoring, Investigation and Enforcement to enhance competition and ensure fair regulation.
Key Performance Areas
1. Development and Implementation of Compliance Monitoring strategies
2. Compile Organisational Compliance Report
3. Investigation of illegal operations and non- compliance reports
4. Investigate and monitor non-compliance of licensees
5. Monitor compliance with minimum network parameters as established by CIRT
6. Research on compliance issues
7. Enforcement of statutory provisions
8. Conducts spot checks and audits on licensees and retailers

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree of Arts or Science in information security, computer science or similar field. A Post Graduate Qualification in a related field is an added advantage.
Experience:
• At least five years’ work experience in compliance and enforcement.
• Background and expertise in investigations, legal, compliance, audit, or IT.
• Relevant work experience of monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements and engaging with regulatory bodies and the operational application of the law.
• Familiarity with computer security systems.
