Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) is a mining company established in 1973 to mine and transform coal into unlimited sources of energy. The MCM business is at the heart of a prosperous future for Botswana with coal production contributing significantly to the economic development of Botswana. Morupule Coal Mine is owned by the Minerals Development Company Botswana (MDCB) at 100% ownership.

Morupule Coal Mine is located 14 km northwest of the urbanized village of Palapye (the fastest growing center outside the capital city of Gaborone), along the Serowe-Palapye national highway (A14). The company’s vision, is ‘To be a leading coal energy business”

The Company Seeks to invite suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following position:

– SALES & MARKETING COORDINATOR (I YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

Job Summary:
To manage current, new, and potential relationships with MCM customers and stakeholders, and increase sales and revenue, through implementation of the Sales and Marketing strategy and plans to achieve business objectives.

Key Activities:
 Implements the Sales and Marketing quality assurance programme in accordance with set governance protocols/principles.
 Analyses the divisional area’s financial needs to develop a budget and ensures sufficient financial resources to meet business needs.
 Manages and controls allocated funds and operates within approved parameters.
 Acquisition of new customers.
 Develops winning customer propositions to grow overall profitability.
 Manage sales/supply negotiations and close off profitable sales deals.
 Develops appropriate sales forecasting tools and trend analysis of future markets and product analysis.
 Develops coherent short-term and long-term sales plans to drive sales volumes and product profitability.
 Reviews and assesses the adequacy of existing policies and procedures and makes recommendation to management for improvement or update.
 Customer account management
 Customer complaint management
 Manages the sales function to ensure achievement of business objectives.
 Develops product and brand awareness for all MCM products in all markets
 Develops new markets for various MCM products
 Grows and maintains market share in different market segments for all MCM products
 Identifies and manages the implementation of and adherence to legal and corporate governance principles/requirements.
 Manages and coordinates the implementation of safety, health and environmental programme in area of responsibility.
 Manages key effectiveness areas of subordinates by setting, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary.
 Implements knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
 Manages the implementation of the talent management initiatives in area of responsibility by ensuring the right competence and effectiveness of manpower (capacity building) through developing and implementing career, succession, training and development plans.
 Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners to ensure achievement of business objectives.
 Evaluates subordinates’ performance according to Company policy and motivates measures to address training and development gaps.
 Continual upkeep of MBA board and holding monthly meetings.
 Compile and present daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
 Enforce to the safety, health and environmental programme in area of responsibility.
 Monitor subordinates’ effectiveness areas by setting and reviewing targets.
 Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas in order to improve the Mini Business Unit performance.

Minimum Education & Experience
Requirements:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.
 5 years post qualification experience in a sales and marketing environment, 3 of which should have been in management.
 Knowledge of SHE Management System ISO 45001: 2018 and ISO 14001: 2015.
