Mercantile Insurance Brokers is citizen owned leading insurance broking and risk
consultancy firm in operation for 17 years registered under the provisions of the Botswana
Insurance Industry Act 2015.
We would like to invite suitably qualified, innovative, results oriented, and self-driven
individual with proven track record to apply for the position of a Life Manager tenable in
Gaborone office.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 10 years work experience
in a similar position or higher, extensive
knowledge of individual life insurance
products, experience in training of
representatives, product design and selling
skills.
MAIN ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategic planning of marketing and
administration of life business to ensure
stability, regulatory compliance and
agency profitability in line with set
organizational objectives.
• Recruit, train, motivate and manage
the entire team of representatives and
support staff
• Manage and maintain good relations
with insurers and reinsurers
• Motor vehicle fleet management,
accessories and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Minimum of a Diploma in Insurance/
Associateship from a recognized body
IISA/IIZ/CII, a commercial or insurance
related degree will be an added
advantage.
• Incumbent must be strategic,
innovative thinker with broad insurance
underwriting skills and business acumen
• Excellent relationship building,
leadership skills and people
management skills
• She/He must be resilient and persistent
with good negotiating skills.
REMUNERATION
A competitive compensation package,
which includes a basic salary, a car
allowance or company vehicle, and
performance-based bonus incentives,
including override bonus
