Risk Management and Internal Controls Specialist

The Risk Management & Internal Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of the organisation’s enterprise risk management and internal control frameworks within a fintech and digital financial services environment. The role provides second-line oversight, applies a risk-based approach, and supports management and governance bodies in managing risks arising from digital products, platforms, partnerships, and technology-driven operations.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

• Identify and assess key enterprise and operational risks using a risk-based approach.
• Support the design and assessment of effective internal controls.
• Perform risk-based monitoring, testing, and issue tracking.
• Provide risk reporting and advisory support to management and governance forums

Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Audit, Business, Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years’ experience in risk management, internal controls, audit, or assurance, preferably within a fintech, payments, or digital financial services environment.
• Experience in applying recognised risk management and internal control methodologies using a risk-based approach. Practical experience supporting risk assessments, control reviews, and remediation tracking. Exposure to governance reporting and engagement with internal stakeholders Ability to engage constructively with business stakeholders
