Vacancy: Retail Pricing Strategist

We are an established multi-retailer with a network of Supermarkets and Hospitality in Botswana. Our Group is a market leader in Fresh Foods and Quality Customer Service and currently has opportunities available for a Retail Pricing Strategist.
A Retail Pricing Strategist is responsible for determining the ideal target price for products of the business to analyze competitor pricing matched with market expectations. Pricing strategists work with complex data sets to help businesses determine and set competitive prices to gain market share and achieve revenue goals.

Responsibilities

⦁ Perform competitor analysis on similar products and services
⦁ Scope out opportunities based on market trends and industry condition
⦁ Identify ideal pricing structures and sales funnels
⦁ Draft strategic pricing plans and processes to improve existing projects
⦁ Create reports reflecting metrics and project status, objectives and barriers
⦁ Communicate findings effectively to relevant departments of the company
⦁ Work with the sales and marketing team to define pricing structure for company products
⦁ Address issues and concerns raised by team members relating to pricing suggestions

Qualifications & Experience:

⦁ Experience working as a pricing analyst in the same industry
⦁ Strong knowledge of the industry including competitors and market trends
⦁ A keen eye for identifying opportunity
⦁ Strong analytical and research skills
⦁ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
⦁ Good negotiation and problem-solving skills
⦁ Effective reporting and presentation skills
⦁ Enthusiastic and proactive team player

Skills &Experience required:

⦁ A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
⦁ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, excel, office, etc.
⦁ Hands-on experience in retail pricing strategies i.e., premium, skimming, economy, and penetration
⦁ Minimum two years experience in the FMCG industry
⦁ Multi-tasking and results-oriented
