VACANCY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Resident Engineer for a road construction project linking the Mmamabula Power Plant, currently under construction, to the Ai Highway.

Main duties will include: preparation of monthly technical reports, attending technical and site progress meetings, clarification of contractors’ queries, quality control inspections, approval and review of design plans, liaison between the contractor and design office on technical issues, witnessing of quality control tests, liaison with the Engineer /Project Leader on verification of changes and adjudication of claims, assisting the Engineer / Project Leader with site specific risk identification and mitigation, services coordination of roads engineering works with other disciplines, inclusive of liaison with the services coordinator.

This project is expected to be handed over within a period of 9 -12 months.

This position requires a Professional Engineer with an ERB practicing certificate with at least 10 years post-qualification experience. The candidate should be a hands-on professional with strong leadership and communication skills, able to confidently and appropriately assert themselves, make prudent decisions and effectively solve problems. The candidate will be expected to resolve conflict, deliver to deadlines; and maintain quality and ISO standards and procedures.
