Job Description

Our Client in Kasane region is looking for an enthusiastic passionate relief Sous Chef to assist their team.

ROLE:

  1. Creating magical food moments
  2. Training of junior chefs
  3. Ensuring all dietary requirements are met
  4. To ensure exceptional food standards
  5. To Maintain exceptional hygiene standards

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Stock-takes, ordering and purchasing, with help of Management.
  2. Cost and portioning-management
  3. Reporting problems in kitchen, staff, or equipment
  4. Monthly reports and meetings with Management.
  5. Strict measures to keep food-stock-levels under control
  6. Safety and Health protocols in place and adhered to.
  7. To Supervise all F&B employees reporting to him / her
  8. Menu-planning according to special diets and seasons
  9. Any disciplinary actions to be done according to Lodge procedures, with guidance from management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Experience in working in the Tourism industry. (Lodges 4*)
  2. At least 5 years experience as a fully qualified Chef of which at least 2 years must be in a senior management role
  3. Degree / Diploma in Catering or Culinary Arts
  4. Driver’s License
  5. Knowledge in how to deal with staff and guests.
  6. In Love with making beautiful meals.
  7. Must be eligible to work in Botswana

Type: Fixed Term

Looking for someone who is passionate about cooking, can work under pressure, has a good work-ethic who can guide and train the staff under him/her, can help out in emergencies, no clock watchers. Must be patient, calm, but really excited about creating gorgeous plates of food.
