  • Regulatory Compliance Manager (Permanent) Gaborone

Main Purpose
To give leadership and direction required to ensure that there is adequate Conduct & Compliance oversight on the Regulatory Surveillance responsibilities. To further ensure that there is a robust system of internal controls management.

Key Responsibilities
♦ Dealing and being the point of contact for the regulators
♦ Collaborating with business units, advising internal management and business partners on the implementation of compliance programs
♦ Conducting compliance risk assessments and Developing risk management strategies
♦ Decompose regulations immediately they are released using the assigned matrix template
♦ Conducting regular GAP analysis on new and updated controls and best practices in the industry
♦ Review and Confirm compliance with agreed reporting timelines and other Service Level Agreements
♦ Following up on compliance issues that require investigation
♦ Preparing compliance reports
♦ Carry out compliance training and awareness as necessary
♦ Conducting internal reviews and audits and monitoring the closure of compliance exceptions
♦ Evaluating compliance systems and ensuring adequate software is in place
♦ Providing oversight from a second line to avert penalties.
♦ Carrying out an independent review of the Units in Conduct & Compliance, and overseeing the global advisory function of the unit
♦ Overseeing the implementation of ethics, conduct and relevant corporate governance requirements

Key requirements
♦ Bachelor 5 Degree in Law or any Business-related disciplines.
♦ A recognized professional Compliance certification will be an added advantage
♦ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. 2 of which must be in a leadership role
♦ Compliance and AML/CFT skill
♦ Internal Control Skill
♦ Excellent Oral & Written communication skills
♦ Excellent financial analysis / interpretation skills
♦ Strategic orientation
