Job Description

QUALITY CONTROLLER

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you shall have the responsibility to ensure that the Company provides fit for purpose and consistent products and services that meet both external and internal requirements. This includes legal compliance and customer expectations.

Your principal responsibilities shall include the following:

  • Conduct and perform analysis of all products (raw and finished goods) throughout the entire production process and report any abnormalities found.
  • Ensure availability and use of valid control samples and report any abnormalities immediately.
  • Analyse all samples brought to the laboratory for proficiency testing and record accordingly.
  • Participate in the inspection of food processing and operations environment and assist in ensuring that people adhere to quality standards.
  • Promote safety practices and procedures with respect to work environment and prepare routine and special reports to management.
  • Maintain Quality Control records and make them available as requested, for information and decision making.
  • Inspect all process line personal hygiene and housekeeping activities to ensure compliance.
  • Check processes and products compliance to company set specifications and legal requirements.
  • Confirm the usability of stock before sending it to the mill department.
  • Participate actively in the implementation of ISO and Kaizen programs in order to contribute to company compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must have at least three (3) years’ experience in a similar position and a Degree or Diploma in Food Science Nutrition and Technology or equivalent. The candidate must have exposure to implementation and maintenance of ISO 17025 Laboratory Management systems. Computer literacy – (Excel, Word and Power point) is essential.

  • have the ability to multi – task.
  • be proactive.
