Morupule Coal Mine (MCM)’s Project Management Office (PMO) is undertaking various studies and optimization activities of core assets to unlock additional value as part of #1-3-27 strategy execution.These include, but not limited to several underground and plant engineering modifications, as well as studies for greenfield and brownfield expansion of underground and open cast mining operations thus to allow for the optimization of resource, and improved alignment of MCM assets with the evolving market requirements.
The Company seeks to invite suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following position:
Job Summary:
To provide technical engineering and construction management support for both proposed mine expansion projects, business improvements and stay-in business projects across the mine.
Key Activities:
- Leads and manages the detailed engineering and designs of the project portfolio from pre-conccpt’conccpt phase all the way to detailed designs, execution, commissioning and hand-over.
- Ensures that MCM standards and procedures, detailed design criteria, safety and operability are consistently applied across all projects across the mine.
- Ensures that engineering designs aligns with relevant legislative, regulatory, local and international engineering standards.
- Investigates the design, construction and commission engineering optimization solutions for underground, open-cast and coal processing plants to unlock additional capacity thus to improve operational performance and efficiencies across the mine.
- Perform on-site management and coordination of contractors and site personnel for areas of responsibility.
- Manages consultants in areas of responsibility.
- Manages change management process.
- Implements sice safety and develops safety culture.
- Manages FIDIC contractual commitments including cost, quality and schedule.
Competencies
- Excellent technical knowledge in construction, project and operational management.
- Ability to lead others, particularly through new or modified approaches, practices and processes in the organization.
- Ability to initiate large or long-term changes in the organization in response to anticipated future requirements.
- A very strong working knowledge of coal mining, beneficiation and materials handling and management processes.
- Have a strong capability to prioritize and plan effectively.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification is required, preferably in Civil, Structural. Mechanical or Electrical engineering fields.
- Must have at least 15 years of projects delivery experience within a mining environment.
- Must have cxpcncncc and a proven track record in the delivery of infrastructure and processing facilities for major capital construction projects.
- Must have demonstrated experience in study phase of major capital projects.
- Knowledge of SHE Management System i.e. ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.
