Procurement Officer
Summary
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the position will be responsible for procuring goods and services in accordance with specifications, as well as, procedures to maximize value for money and ensure business continuity.
Description
The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:
- Researching, evaluating and comparing products and services to determine which best meet the organization’s needs at acceptable rates.
- Assisting in the evaluation of vendors/suppliers based on quality of service, delivery times, prices, and any other information from end-users.
- Preparing and issuing tenders, as well as, ensuring adherence to compliance with tender policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
The right candidate will possess a Degree in Materials Management or related field or Professional Qualification (e.g. CIPS). A post graduate qualification would be an added advantage. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a medium to large supply chain business environment. Membership of a recognized professional body. Proficiency in Computer and Supply Chain software application.
