VACANCY: PRINCIPAL PHARMACIST I
POSITIONS: 20
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above temporary positions in the Ministry of Health, Department of Health Service Management, tenable at various health facilities in the Republic of Botswana.
SALARY: D3 (P279, 660.00- P308, 328.00 per annum)
BENEFITS:
a) Scarce skill allowance paid at 30% of basic salary.
b) Paramedics allowance at 15%.
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: At least two (2) year’s work experience as a Senior Pharmacist or eight (8) years relevant work experience.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To organise and monitor implementation of Pharmaceutical and Regulatory services.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Performs clinical ward rounds.
- Coordinates the implementation of Pharmaceutical protocols.
- Plans and prepares documents for procurement of equipment, consumables, medicines and related substances.
- Monitors implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) for delivery of pharmaceutical services and patient care.
- Manages chronic condition clinics in collaboration with other health professionals.
- Checks medicine and related substances tests reports.
- Coordinates the efficient use of material resources and equipment allocated to the unit.
- Identifies training needs for pharmacy and scientific personnel.
- Attends workshops.
