Applications arc invited from suitably qualified citizens of Botswana for the below position in the National AIDS and Health Promotion Agency (NAHPA).
PRINCIPAL PROCUREMENT OFFICER I (GLOBAL FUND PROJECT)
Twelve (12) months contract
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Strategic Supply Chain management or Business Administration or Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply level six (6) or any other related field.
Experience:
At least 10 years work experience in Purchasing. Supply and Materials Management of which two (2) should have been served as Principal Procurement Officer II. D3 or its equivalence.
Salary: D2 (P 320.952.00 – P 353,928.00)
LEAVE: 30 days per annum
Benefits: Gratuity at 30% of basic salary and 30 leave days per year.
Main Purpose of the Job:
To Facilitate procurement of supplies, services and works well as disposal of assets as well as provide advice on compliance to procurement regulations and guidelines.
Main responsibilities:
• Gives advice on Procurement matters requiring policy action and guides on all technical matters for effective procurement of goods and services.
• Monitor contractual agreements to ensure compliance, recommend amendments and extensions to contracts and advises on contractual rights and obligations.
• Facilitate bulk procurement of supplies to ensure compliance with local procurement programme.
• Conduct market research to ensure that advertised specifications are aligned to the new product developments.
• Analyze material and equipment losses: investigate losses: discuss findings with management; recommend policy and procedure changes: prepare and coordinate the implementation changes.
• Authorize purchase orders of authorized limit and submits exceeding amount to the supervisor for approval.
• Authorize disposal of obsolete/unserviccablc goods.
• Manage the inventory of the Ministry’s assets.
• Assess personal knowledge and skills against job specific competencies to identify development needs and priorities.
• Seek constructive feedback from others and use it to develop self.
• Conduct on-the-job training for supervisees.
• Share information, knowledge, experiences and learning with others.
