This position is responsible for providing detailed planned maintenance and shutdown schedules to facilitate the maintenance of the plant

The Planning Technician is responsible for providing detailed planned maintenance and shutdown schedules to facilitate the maintenance of the plant in accordance with set specifications, standards and safety procedures to ensure optimal plant availability

Key Performance Areas:
• Process approved work request for both corrective and shutdown tasks
• Process system generated work orders (PM)
• Monitor services and materials for availability in relevant schedule period
• Identify and complete redundant work orders
• Rough-cut schedule planned work orders into appropriate period based on available resource work centre
• Schedule planned work orders into schedule period; use work order priorities to determine scheduling sequence and capacity level
• Chair Draft Maintenance and Schedule Sign Off Meetings
• Record actual usages
• Assist in the execution of approved master data requests to assist in continuous improvement
• Allow for detailed cost recording, control and performance measurement
• Provide a disciplined and efficient way for maintenance and production to work in partnership
• Achieve optimal availability of equipment/plant by maintaining accurate information
• Create capacity levelled weekly maintenance schedules that effectively coordinates production, maintenance, contractor and equipment resources
• Create quality work packs to enable Maintainers to execute work
• Work collaboratively with the Supervisors to continuously improve planning master data and equipment performance
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Technical Competencies
• Be proficient in maintenance ERPs and a solid understanding of the copper processing plant will be highly regarded.
• High regard for safe work practices and procedures
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of work control process and requirements and knowledge of business reporting and asset management systems.

• Have exceptional communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement will be essential.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with key internal and external clients.

Qualification & Experience
• Minimum of diploma or certificate in Mechanical / Electrical / Electromechanical Engineering or related fields
• Certificate in maintenance planning and scheduling
• Botswana Class B Drivers Licence.
• At least 3-5 years of working experience in Mining and Maintenance Planning Environment.
• Display significant experience in maintenance planning/scheduling.
• Experience in plant management and document control systems is desirable
• A mechanical trade or mining engineer background is highly desirable
