VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT – VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 1 OF 2024
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Physiotherapist tenable at Tsholofelo Rehabilitation Centre in Serowe.
Tsholofelo Rehabilitation Centre is a Non-Governmental Organisation partly funded by the Ministry of Health to provide pre-school education, rehabilitation, stimulation and advocacy for children with disabilities in Serowe and surrounding villages. The Centre also offers special education. Tsholofelo Rehabilitation Centre does not have permanent sources of funding but sustains its operations from assistance from donors and well-wishers.

  • PHYSIOTHERAPIST – 1 POST

Annual salary: C1 (PI 83 408-P218184)
Leave: 25 working days per annum.
Qualification: Degree in Physiotherapy.

Requirements:
• At least two (2) years’ minimum relevant work experience.
• Must have no criminal record.
• Must not be registered in the Register of Children Abusers in accordance with Children’s Act.
• Must be of sober habits.
• Having worked with people with disabilities (PWDs) will be an added advantage.
• MUST HAVE ACTIVE PRACTICE LICENSE AND BE REGISTERED WITH THE BOTSWANA HEALTH PROFESSIONS COUNCIL

Main Duties:
• To head and run the Physiotherapy Department with a view to stimulate and rehabilitate children with disabilities.
• To work as a team member with a view to plan the work of the Physiotherapy Department.
• To ensure a proper upkeep of equipment and that the supply of
materials needed in the Department are available.
• To guide, motivate and coach subordinates to improve the quality of the service provided to children with disabilities.
• To assess children with disabilities referred to Tsholofelo Rehabilitation Centre and plan therapy and treatment accordingly.
• To assess the needs of the Clients and where necessary refer them to Medical Practitioners, Social Workers, Orthopaedic Technicians, Surgeons, Speech Therapists, Audiologists, Eye Specialists etc
• To plan and implement Community Based Rehabilitation and assist other members of the team.
• To undertake any other duties as may be required to meet the exigency of the service.
