Botswana Harvard AIDS Partnership is a collaborative research and training initiative between the government of Botswana and the Harvard School of Public Health BHP is dedicated to tightening HIV/AIDS and related public health challenges through collaborative research, education, and capacity building. Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership invites professional, assertive, hands-on. results-driven individuals, with good interpersonal skills and a keen interest in research to apply for the following role:
- Pharmacy Technician
Reporting directly to the Pharmacist of Record, the pharmacy technician will be responsible for providing end-to-end pharmaceutical duties at BHP Clinical Research Sites (CRS) such as:
- Prepare and complete accountability records for study products and concomitant medications to participants and provide counseling on adverse effects and correct use of the products, and medication.
- Order government antiretroviral drugs from Central Medical Stores (CMS), and concomitant and emergency cart medications from government hospital dispensaries to ensure adequate in-pharmacy stock levels at all times.
- Maintain appropriate records of receipt, use, and disposition of government antiretroviral drugs, concomitant, and emergency cart medications.
- Ensure proper storage conditions in the pharmacy which includes daily temperature checks and response to temperature alerts and incidents.
- Prepare and submit government antiretroviral drugs statistics for CMS ARV monthly reporting
Qualification Experience
Diploma in Pharmacy Technology.
- Current registration with Botswana Health Professions Council with a valid blue card
- 1 – 2 years of experience
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Kitso training is an added advantage
