Purpose of the Role

Develops and implements a Performance and Risk management program within Supply Chain in line with the business Strategic Plan.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements monitoring systems to measure performance of Supply Chain Services.
  • Collates and analyses performance reports (e.g. Balance scorecard, supply chain benefits tracking, Call centre reports) and makes recommendations for SCM leadership based on data inputs.
  • Manages the Supply Chain audit planning process, provides input and supports the execution of audits to ensure the successful close-out of findings
  • Works with cross functional teams and implements co-coordinated plans and strategies to improve Supply Chain Management ‘s effectiveness and efficiency as well as work directly with business process owners
  • Keeps abreast of changes in requirements, legislation, benchmarks as well as Supply Chain practice that impact on Business Intelligence.
  • Provides guidance to stakeholders in the identification, design, development, and implementation of innovative and leading supply chain business intelligence methodologies.
  • Provides strategic advice and guidance on the performance management framework to all stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the automation of the Supply Chain Performance Management System in collaboration with IM and Systems and Technology Manager
  • Leads and implements a supply chain risk program that identifies, quantifies, escalate, track and close risk events in the supply chain.
  • Conducts pro-active risk analysis of the supply chain, using digital tools to identify high risk suppliers, commodities, within the supply chain network
  • Utilizes digital models of the end-to-end supply chain and run risk scenario’s to proactively identify future potential risks and provides management reporting on supply chain risk management
  • Develops proactive mitigation plans, including actions to be taken before during and after supply chain disruptions
  • Interprets operational requirements and integrates with discipline base financial needs to ensure availability of financial resources to meet business objectives
  • Manages the safety, health and environmental programme in area of responsibility
  • Initiates, monitors and controls short term sectional projects and ensures attainment of desired results
  • Manages and coordinates the implementation of legal and corporate governance principles/requirements in area of responsibly.
  • Manages the departmental talent management initiatives by ensuring the right competence and effectiveness of manpower (capacity building) through developing and implementing career, succession, training and development plans
  • Manages the effectiveness of subordinates by setting, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary
  • Manages knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
  • Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners (internal and external) to ensure achievement of business objective

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety, health and environmental and corporate governance principles, policies and procedures in area of responsibility

Education

  • Degree in business and/or Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • Membership of relevant professional body as applicable

Experience

8 years of relevant post qualification Supply Chain Management Experience, 3 years of which has been spent at Management level

Legal Certification/Professional Registration
