Job Description

Botswana Open University (Bou) requires suitably qualified persons for the posts of Part-Time Tutors
LOCATION: Gaborone Regional Campus- Fair Grounds

Main Purpose of the Position
The incumbent will be responsible for offering effective tutorial support for OPEN SCHOOLING (JC or BGCSE Subjects) at Gaborone Regional Campus

Key performance Areas/Responsibilities
• Provide subject specific knowledge and tutoring expertise to learners as contracted
• Adhere to standing time and duration of Tutorials as agreed upon with the Centre Supervisor.
• Attend tutorials/study groups as scheduled by the centre supervisor.
• Liaise with Centre Supervisor to ensure that learners are provided with the best possible learning opportunities and environment at the learning centre.
• Plan and run group tutorials as well as conducting individual consultation to provide subject specific tuition and guidance
• Mark Assignments and provide effective and acceptable feedback within specified time lines
• Take part in the College continuous monitoring and evaluation exercise to ensure that quality standards are met.
• Perform any other tasks that the Regional Office may decree in an effort to improve the quality of service at learning centres.

Qualification and Experience

For JC
• Diploma in Secondary Education
• Teaching experience

For BGCSE
• Degree in Secondary Education
• Or relevant Bachelor Degree with Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
• Teaching experience

JCE: Mathematics, Setswana, English, Social Studies, Religious Education, General Science, Agriculture, Commerce & Accounting, Commerce & Office Procedure, Moral Education.
BGCSE: Mathematics, Setswana, Accounts, Business Studies, English, Mathematics, Setswana, History, science Double Award (Biology and Physics), Commerce, Accounts & Geography
