Vital Commodities (Pty) Ltd in partnership with Mindea Exploration And Drilling

Services conduct drilling operations throughout Botswana.

It is our goal to hire an Operations Advisor with industry experience and relevant Qualification Standards. We prefer individuals who have experience working in remote areas and in tough conditions. Our reputation is based on the quality of work we provide to our clients and the ability to not only know the information, but to practice it effectively.

Required Skills:

  • Must be able to oversee and advise staff in order to impart knowledge and skills in the field
  • Must have extensive knowledge in formulation and application of drilling chemicals to counter down hole conditions
  • Must be able to understand and resolve technical down-hole drilling challenges
Must be able to establish and improve existing drilling methodologies
  • Must be able to select appropriate equipment and practices to successfully and efficiently complete drilling programs in harsh and remote locations
  • Must be fluent in technical terminology relating to the drilling industry
  • Must be conversant in ISO and OSHAS standards, as well as, but not limited to, latest industry standards in HSE.
  • Must be computer literate working with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to delegate appropriate resources per task

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of actual drill rig experience with the required skills to cover percussion, wireline, non-coring drill methods
  • Relevant qualification as per industry standard
  • Must have reference from at least 2 internationally operated companies
  • Must have 10 years’ experience in the field of drilling
  • Must have worked on projects overseeing at least 3 drill rigs
  • Must have 8 years in a leadership role such as manager/supervisor/foreman
  • Matric/ Cambridge /BGSE Certificate with English passed.

All posts will be filled on a contract basis. The decision of selection/recruitment committee will be final. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Salary packages are based on a grading system and will be discussed with successful candidates.
