Officer, Physical Security – Botswana Savings Bank

Main Purpose of the Job

Assists the Supervisor, Physical Security to protect the organisation’s customers, employees and suppliers from criminal acts while on bank property. Officer, Physical Security is also responsible for protecting the organisation’s property from criminal acts.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

1. Assist Supervisor, Physical Security with the training and recruitment of physical security staff.

2. Control access to various parts of the premises.

3. Take on the role of a leader for the Physical Security Staff.

4. Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and law enforcement groups.

5. Report any anomalies to the Supervisor, Physical Security.

6. Assist the Supervisor, Physical Security with the development of effective contingency plans to protect people, assets, property and information.

7. Assist with the installation of security aiding gadgets such as video surveillance, access control, firefighting equipment, etc.

8. Enact the organisation’s response evacuation plan in fire incidents, natural disasters, infrastructure failures and acts of terror.

9. Inspect and evaluate the condition of security equipment and ensure that the necessary repairs are made.

10. Ensure that guidelines for the prevention and handling of workplace violence are adhered to. 11. Ensures that access control, CCTV and intrusion alarm systems are always working.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information system, Security Management or equivalent.

Experience:

• Two (2) years’ post qualification experience in a security operations environment.
