DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for the safe transportation of men and material in the shafts and ensures that the work area is safe by applying re-entry procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises the safe transportation of men and material in the shafts
- Ensures that the area of work is safe by applying re-entry procedures
- Supervises and monitors the Maintenance of roadways and drainage systems within the Mine
- Carries out underground mining projects through construction of masonry such as ventilation walls, ducts, pipelines, and sumps, applying best practice and mine standards
- Monitor the material handling facilities at vertical and decline shafts and report any defects to the maintenance supervisor.
- Ensures cost effective use of materials in line with company standards and procedures
- Records shaft examinations and material movement in and out of the shaft.
- Adheres to the company SHE policies and procedures in all activities undertaken to minimize unsafe incidents and accidents
- Implements action items arising from quality audits by taking corrective actions on identified non-conformities.
Qualifications:
- BGCSE
- Blasting License certificate
- At least five (5)years underground mining exposure
- Driver’s license
- Time Management
- Written/Oral Communication
- Proactive
- Team Player
- Physically fit
- Attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate PNR values and core competencies
