  •  MEDICAL COORDINATOR

These positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland, therefore, you must still enjoy getting out on site and have the enthusiasm and interest to work in a remote location and in a multicultural work environment. Only Botswana citizens may apply.

• You must be familiar with the Mining Safety, Health and Environment requirements.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The role is to plan, coordinate and manage the Mine clinics, Occupational Health,
curative care, as well as accidents and emergency response fo Khoemacau Copper Mining employees and contractors.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

You will be responsible for:
• Ensuring coding and classifying existing and new stock items within the AMCAT system.
• Preparing annual budget for the section and making recommendations to management regarding facilities and priorities.
• Identifying stock levels and replacing stock of medications, medical equipment as per procurement process and practice for medical site
• Determining whether existing safety and health controls are effective and making recommendations required for the improvement of these.
• Ensuring all medical equipment and drugs disposal is conducted according to SOP’s.
• Facilitating, managing and maintaining primary health care programme operations and guidelines/procedures and standards for the Mine.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports for both internal and external purposes stakeholders.
• Coordinating the implementation of Mine wellness programmes and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
• Degree in Nursing Science or Occupational Health Nursing.
• Must be registered with the Nurses Association of Botswana
and holding a current practicing license.
• The ideal candidate should possess eight (8) years
experience post qualification experience, two (2) of which
should have been served in a supervisory level.
