Purpose of the Job
To perform diamond sorting activities within Operations, including specified product handling activities directly associated with the sorting process, as and when required to do so.
Key activities
•    Performs diamond sorting consistently and accurately according to Standard Selling Assortment (SSA) and Government Selling Assortment with effective use of samples
•    Conducts defalsing activities according to guidelines and set standards
•    Tracks, trends and monitors own performance
•    Interprets BI profiler
•    Adheres to production schedules and deadlines
•    Collects diamonds according to the sorting schedule and departmental requirements
•    Complies and adheres to company and departmental policies and procedures (security, standards, behaviors)
•    Provides performance reports by recording, analysing and submitting the data according to standards
•    Collates and reports on allocated team efficiency metrics that form part of Visual Management and participates in team meetings
•    Carries out relevant activities related to 5S and SHE plans and standards
•    Participates in team problem solving activities and executes allocated actions to overcome production challenges
•    Identifies and submits opportunities for improvement of processing activities to team and execute allocated actions to improve team efficiency
•    Adheres to all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility
Qualifications
A minimum of a Diploma qualification
Experience
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in diamond sorting
•    Perform sorting with no supervision and present directly to QA
•    Competent in all assortments split groups in at least two size ranges or
•    Competent in three (3) assortment split groups of at least three (3) sizes or
•    Competent in at least four (4) assortment splits groups 2 – 10ct
