The National Arts Council of Botswana is a body corporate established under the provisions of the National Arts Council of Botswana Act, No. 10 of 2020. The Council’s mandate is to develop, promote and protect the creative and cultural sector of Botswana through policy, legislation, industry facilitation and various partnerships, programmes, grants and initiatives. The Council aims to transform the local creative and cultural sector by nurturing creative excellence and preserving the Nation’s rich cultural traditions with the ultimate goal of building an inclusive, sustainable and prosperous sector.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, the Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for:
Planning, coordinating, and managing the Council’s Corporate Affairs division including but not limited to marketing, communications, brand management, event management, crisis and reputation management, public relations, and stakeholder engagement to protect and manage the image of the Council. The role is also responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns to promote the arts and culture sector locally, regionally and internationally.
Key Performance Areas
- Development and implementation of marketing and communications strategy, plans and policies;
- Increased Council and sector visibility;
- Active engagement with all stakeholders of the Council;
- Efficiently and effectively executed marketing campaigns, programmes and events;
- Clear communication and understanding of Council services and activities;
- Up-to-date, innovative and interactive digital platforms;
- Achievement of strategic goals and targets within set timelines and budgets;
- Stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
- A minimum often (10 years post qualification experience in the marketing and communications field three (3) of which should have been at supervisory or managerial level. Proven experience with managing digital and social media platforms.
- Experience establishing, and implementing marketing and communication policies, processes, systems, and internal controls in a medium to large organisation.
- Experience supporting executive management in internal and external communications.
