Ausdrill Mining Surface Botswana Proprietary Limited has been in operation in Africa since 1993. Initially started in Ghana, AMS has expanded its operations over the years into other countries in West Africa and now, Southern Africa. In line with an opportunity that has presented itself in our Botswana operations, we are seeking applications from qualified and experienced candidates to join our team.

These positions will be based at the Motheo Copper Project, located in Gantsi in Botswana. We are actively seeking to recruit several experienced mining personnel in the following position:

  • MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT

Job Summary:
Reporting to Maintenance Manager, the successful incumbent will be required to ensure that all plant and equipment conforms to local and company health, safety and environmental standards and requirements and performs to the required production demands within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop a maintenance strategy plan for all maintenance and repair tasks in the section.
• Achieve required equipment availability within budget.
• Demonstrable competencies in maintenance work planning and control
• Demonstrable track record and competency in the maintenance of equipment in an open cast mining environment.
• Thorough understanding of contamination control in a Heavy Mobile Equipment work environment
• Ensure that the procurement and supply team are given a forward projection of parts and materials requirements to ensure all parts arrive just in time and only critical items and minimal inventory is stocked on site
• Ensure client relations is managed in a cordial manner in all matters by:
• Produce monthly reports on maintenance and repair initiatives
• Achieving and maintaining high Safety, Health and Environment standards
• Subordinates’ effectiveness
Job Requirements:
• Diploma in Engineering or 4 years Apprenticeship with an NCC qualification
• At least ten (10) years of relevant mining
