Loss Prevention Manager – Botswana Ash
Job Description
Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd (Botash) is a manufacturing company located in Sua Pan which produces soda ash and salt for application across a wide range of industries. A 50/50 partnership between the government of Botswana and a South African Company, Chlor-Alkali Holdings (Pty) Ltd, Botash conducts all operational activities from production through to marketing and sales of soda ash and salt across the Southern African region.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Manager – Loss Prevention will be in charge of the following Sections:
- Security
- SHE
- Mine Clinic
- Aviation
The role is responsible for formulation and execution of the company loss prevention strategy and control systems; monitoring compliance to operational, safety, inventory control, and security standards. The responsibilities include, amongst others, protection of the company’s assets from losses such as theft, fraud, and inaccurate inventory reporting; planning, managing, and regularly evaluating procedures to ensure losses are prevented; identifying potential risks and develop the risk control systems; training staff on loss control and preventative measures; customer service and quality; compliance and governance; people management and ensuring highest standards of Safety, Health and Environment.
You will have all round leadership skills, exceptional communication and negotiating skills to build relationships with key stakeholders and influence decision making at the highest level.
You will have a degree in any relevant field [Security Management, Risk, Loss Management, Safety & Health & Environment] together with membership of a recognized professional institution. You will have at least 8 years’ post-qualification experience of which 5 years would have been gained at a senior management level within a heavy industry environment.
