Job Description
LABORATORY SCIENTIST – CHEMISTRY
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Chemistry Laboratory. Other responsibilities include providing guidance for the development, implementation and maintenance of a Laboratory management system (MS) according to the ISO/ IEC 17025: 2017 standard. In addition, he/ she will also be responsible for developing system policies and procedures, quality control (QC) programme, test methods development and validation, equipment management, inventory management, SHE management, technical coaching and staff training.
Qualifications and Experience:
⦁ Degree in Applied Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry.
⦁ Pre-requisite training on ISO/ IEC 17025 Requirements and Internal Auditing, Methods Validation, and Root Cause Analysis/ Corrective Action.
⦁ A minimum of five (5) years relevant post-qualification experience preferably in an ISO/ IEC 17025 accredited food/ water testing Laboratory, of which at least three (3) should have been in a managerial or supervisory position.
