Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
To provide and monitor IT security controls and solutions and ensure that they comply with best practice security policies. To provide IT security awareness to the organization and to implement controls that will protect the IT systems and information within the organization. The position directly reports to the IT Security Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop information security policies, standards and procedures. Work with key IT Units, data custodians and governance groups in the development of such policies to ensure that policies support compliance with external requirements;
• Disseminate policies, standards and procedures to the organization in line with the terms of the information security strategy and ensure compliance of those policies;
• Assist in making recommendations regarding appropriate personnel, physical and technical security controls to ensure that these are in line with best practices;
• Develop and implement an Incident Reporting and Response System to address security incidents (breaches), policy violations or complaints from users;
• Develop and deliver a user awareness and training program on information security and privacy matters for employees and other authorized users;
• Develop and implement an ongoing risk assessment program targeting information security and privacy matters;
• Plan and conduct effective risk assessments on existing and new IT systems, identifying risks/issues and implementing controls that mitigate those risks;
• Recommend and install methods / software for vulnerability detection and remediation, and oversee vulnerability/penetration testing
• Take part in recovery planning processes and documentation of necessary references;
• Keep abreast of latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities pertaining to the organization;
Subscribe to information security blogs and sector subscriptions to identify new risks and trends that may need to be address in information security policies, procedures and standards.

Qualifications:
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology OR equivalent qualification

Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an IT support environment. Broad knowledge of IT Security Management, IT Systems Management and Control Techniques (ITIL – Service Management essentials).

• Professional certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Pentest+, CCNP Security, Paloalto PCNSA, SSCP will be an added advantage.
