Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:

Duties

The incumbent works under the supervision of the Information Technology (IT) Manager to manage Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC Botswana network operating systems (computer systems, telecommunication network, etc.). Assures acquisition and use of latest technologies. Provides technical assistance and oversees all computer hardware, software integrity, systems architecture, security, internet connectivity, and local area network (LAN) systems (installation, configuration, operations, maintenance, and diagnosis). Responds to CDC user IT Help Desk requests.  Coordinates the administration, replacement, and inventory of IT equipment.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

At least 4 years of performing progressively more responsible work of a program, technical or administrative nature where emphasis is placed on analytical, judgment, and expository abilities with respect to the operation, management, and utilization of computer systems is required.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Must possess extensive knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodologies involving computer system analysis, programming, operations, and related aspects of telecommunications.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer software engineering, information technology, information systems, information systems management required.

LANGUAGE:

Level IV English and Setswana (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing is required.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Maintaining operational capability and readiness of computer systems is required. Ability to relate proposed projects and priorities to the capabilities and limitations to the computer system and components to determine capability to meet support requirements is required. “This may be tested.”
