The Role: Internal Financial Officer (IFO) & Data Protection Officer (DPO)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our growing team in a dual capacity as Internal Financial Officer (IFO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO). This pivotal internal role reports directly to the CEO/COO and offers flexibility through part-time or remote work arrangements.

The successful candidate will lead our internal finance operations and oversee data protection compliance across the organisation. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and PaySpace/Deel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Strategy & Planning
  • Align financial strategies with business goals.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor performance and provide insights.
  1. Financial Leadership
  • Provide strategic financial guidance.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  1. Risk Management
  • Manage financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  1. Internal Accounting
  • Perform and oversee day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Maintain accurate records and internal controls.
  • Use QuickBooks Online for reporting.
  • Manage payroll via PaySpace/Deel.
  1. Data Protection & Compliance
  • Serve as the designated Data Protection Officer.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws and internal policies.
  • Conduct data audits and risk assessments.
  • Train staff on data privacy and security best practices.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies on data protection matters.
  1. Team Management
  • Lead and mentor the internal finance team
  • Co-ordinate the internal finance activities/requirements with all remaining personnel
  1. Stakeholder Communication
  • Present financial and compliance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  1. Operational Efficiency
  • Optimise financial and data protection processes.
  • Enhance our Business Operating System and Enterprise Resource System.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Member in good standing with BICA.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Proven experience in finance leadership and data protection.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and PaySpace/Deel.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, local laws) is a strong advantage.
