The Role: Internal Financial Officer (IFO) & Data Protection Officer (DPO)
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our growing team in a dual capacity as Internal Financial Officer (IFO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO). This pivotal internal role reports directly to the CEO/COO and offers flexibility through part-time or remote work arrangements.
The successful candidate will lead our internal finance operations and oversee data protection compliance across the organisation. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and PaySpace/Deel is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Planning
- Align financial strategies with business goals.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Monitor performance and provide insights.
- Financial Leadership
- Provide strategic financial guidance.
- Ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
- Risk Management
- Manage financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Internal Accounting
- Perform and oversee day-to-day accounting functions.
- Maintain accurate records and internal controls.
- Use QuickBooks Online for reporting.
- Manage payroll via PaySpace/Deel.
- Data Protection & Compliance
- Serve as the designated Data Protection Officer.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and internal policies.
- Conduct data audits and risk assessments.
- Train staff on data privacy and security best practices.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies on data protection matters.
- Team Management
- Lead and mentor the internal finance team
- Co-ordinate the internal finance activities/requirements with all remaining personnel
- Stakeholder Communication
- Present financial and compliance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Operational Efficiency
- Optimise financial and data protection processes.
- Enhance our Business Operating System and Enterprise Resource System.
Qualifications & Experience
- Member in good standing with BICA.
- Professional certification (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven experience in finance leadership and data protection.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and PaySpace/Deel.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, local laws) is a strong advantage.
