Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full HR administrative support to management and employees
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR files
  • Coordinate recruitment, interviews, medicals, and onboarding of new employees
  • Draft and issue employment contracts, letters, and HR correspondence
  • Assist with disciplinary processes, including drafting notices, minutes, and outcomes
  • Handle employee queries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Monitor leave, absenteeism, and attendance, particularly for operational staff
  • Support management with performance management and probation reviews
  • Ensure compliance with Botswana labour laws and company HR policies
  • Prepare HR reports and statistics as required by management

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Additional HR certifications will be an advantage
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in an HR administrative or officer role
  • Proven experience within the transport, logistics, fleet, or operational environment will be a strong advantage
  • Hands-on experience dealing with drivers, mechanics, and operational staff
  • Sound knowledge of Botswana labour legislation, including: Employment Act, Workers’ Compensation, Trade Disputes Act
  • Handling of disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Strong HR administration skills, including employee records management and HR reporting
  • Experience with disciplinary hearings, investigations, and appeals
  • Ability to manage recruitment and onboarding processes end-to-end
  • Exposure to payroll inputs, leave administration, and benefits coordination
  • Good understanding of industrial relations and union engagements (where applicable)
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
