LOCATION: CAMP I REPORTING TO: HEAD HOUSEKEEPER
JOB PURPOSE
The Housekeeper’s purpose is to carry out cleaning duties which contribute to a memorable guest experience. The role is responsible for ensuring a clean, welcoming, and comfortable front of house environment for camp / lodge guests.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
FOH CLEANING
- Ensure all front of house areas are clean and well-maintained.
- Clean areas according to standard operating procedures and cleaning schedules.
Make sure the proper cleaning products are always used.
- Wipe and disinfect all surfaces including tables, chairs, counter tops, etc. Ensure hygiene standards are maintained.
- Clean guest toilets and replenish with toilet paper, toiletries, and other supplies.
- Clear all waste and make sure waste is properly disposed of. Make sure all trash bins are regularly emptied.
STOCK CONTROL
- Clean, tidy, and prepare the guest room / tent according to standard operating procedures. Make sure the proper cleaning products are always used.
- Clean all guest areas including bedroom, lounge, bathroom, decks and outside shower/bath areas.
- Change linen and mattresses according to rotation schedules.
- Replenish guestroom and bath supplies and amenities.
- Ensure all equipment and appliances used by guests in rooms / tents are in good working condition and re-stocked regularly.
- Make sure the guest tents / rooms are secured when vacant and that guests are provided privacy when in their accommodation.
- Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required.
OTHER
- Maintain a friendly and welcoming attitude during guest interactions.
- Promptly advise line manager of any repairs and maintenance or pest control issues identified.
- Assist other staff members with the set up and clearing of front of house areas as requested.
- Provide support and assistance to other departments or front of house staff as requested.
MANAGEMENT ACCOMMODATION
– Clean, tidy, and prepare the management and guides rooms according to standard operating procedures. Make sure the proper cleaning products are always used.
QUALIFICATIONSAND EXPERIENCE
– Senior Secondary School Certificate (BGCSE).
– Previous experience (2 years) in a similar role is preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE
- Certificate in housekeeping operations is considered advantageous.
- Understanding of cleaning chemicals and their uses.

- High level of personal hygiene standards.
- Physically fit and hard working.
- Attention to detail.
