The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic and commercial leadership in the growth and management of the Bank’s retail banking portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop the Banking strategy in line with strategic objectives, considering growth aspirations and customer strategies.
• Establish sales revenue targets, identify, pursue and drive opportunities to increase banking revenue.
• Ensure implementation and adoption of banking models, frameworks, people practices and process designs to embed a customer focus in the organization’s activities.
• Develop a departmental strategy and ensure alignment to the organisational business model and strategy.
• Refine operating model and relevant performance objectives in area of accountability.
• Optimizing the branch networks, alternative channels and digital solutions to improve accessibility and service delivery.
• Establish functional revenue targets and identify and pursue opportunities to increase financial revenue in area of accountability.
• Use insights and knowledge gained from business reports and other feedback mechanisms to monitor progress and to realign departmental strategy and objectives.
• Define and influence the implementation of cross functional service integration, enabling and encouraging exceptional customer service.
• Drive cost, pricing and profitability effectiveness to create and sustain stakeholder value creation in area of specialisation.
• Develop and implement people capacity plans in line with delivery and performance objectives, within budget and in partnership with specialised areas.
• Define and consolidate the risk profile for the business unit, manage critical risks and ensure resolution feedback to all relevant stakeholders.
• Prioritize business opportunities, in consultation with key stakeholders and facilitate improvement in the ideation process.

Requirements

• Bachelor`s Degrees in Banking and Finance, Business Administration or related.
• Relevant Professional certification in banking.
• Membership of a recognized banking, finance or management professional body would be an added advantage.
• 8 – 10 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 3 – 4 years at senior management level.
• A postgraduate qualification in Banking, Finance, Business or strategic Leadership will be an added advantage.
