Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities include:
Assume a Strategic planning and leadership role for entire broking division within the company.
Asserts responsibility for day-to-day delivery of the company’s risk management and insurance solutions.
Has responsibility for driving the profitability objectives of the company.
Servicing and development of Corporate and Multinational client base.
Must demonstrate sound technical depth in mining and construction insurance.
Fostering of stakeholder management and sound working relationships with other functional business unit.
Familiarity and compliance with all company policies, insurance industry statutory and regulatory requirements.
Training and development of all broking staff within the short-term insurance division. Preparation, monitoring and control of business annual budget for client servicing team.
Assume responsibility of sales, marketing and growth objectives of the entire business. Ensure that technical, claims and service delivery standards are properly implemented for the client in terms of quality management systems.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
Minimum 15 years corporate broking
experience in an insurance broking environment.
Specialization and at least 5 years, mandatory corporate broking experience in structuring insurance programmes for mining and construction clients.
Must possess good technical grounding in aviation, mining and construction insurance. Be fully versed in & have excellent knowledge in drafting Assets All Risks, Construction, Liability and other relevant policies. Experience and knowledge of alternate risk financing & risk management concepts is a prerequisite.
Active participation in renewal strategy meetings and market negotiations.
Hold Insurance, Risk Management, or other related commercial degree.
Have a master’s degree in business, strategy or economics.
In addition, an insurance technical professional qualification with minimum of an Associateship of an internationally recognized insurance professional institute.
A sales or marketing related qualification will be an added advantage.
Membership of an internationally recognized insurance professional institute.
Excellent communication, presentation & inter-personal and supervisory skills. Should have strong customer focus and the ability to interact with client / market representatives at all levels.
Excellent technical skills and able to work under pressure.
Must demonstrate proven track record of managing and handling large and complex insurance claims.
